A Full Moon Full of Optimism

Today’s Full Moon in Sagittarius is a culmination point of the past two weeks, as well as a final phasing out of the challenges we faced while Saturn was in that sign between late 2014 and the end of last year. I’m pretty happy to be done with that period, which brought a number of Saturnian restrictions to my health and everyday work, although the great taskmaster also shows us what we need to learn to overcome adversity, and I think I’ve got a handle on that, too! Are you also finally feeling you have moved on from an old adventure or challenge that developed over that period? Now that…

    Can you spare any change?

“Travel light; arrive quickly.” ~ Sathya Sai Baba The only constant is change, nothing lasts forever, and this, too, shall pass. We have all heard these and similar phrases our whole life, yet we rarely take them to heart. We still cling to who and what we love, and can’t bear to let them go. Change is difficult. When retreating is the best way forward

Mercifully, a strong spiritual practice in crazy times offers a lot of clarity and a sense of purpose. I love the French expression “reculer pour mieux sauter” (step back to jump better), which nicely sums up the idea that we function best with a bit of perspective. When we step back, retreat and unplug for a while (minutes, hours, days…) we can reconnect with our essential self, our deepest desires, and aspirations for life. Retreating consciously allows us to find the inner calm that gets drowned out by the constant impulses of contemporary life. We are undoubtedly responsible for our perception of reality and so need to take care to know…
