A Full Moon Full of Optimism

Today’s Full Moon in Sagittarius is a culmination point of the past two weeks, as well as a final phasing out of the challenges we faced while Saturn was in that sign between late 2014 and the end of last year. I’m pretty happy to be done with that period, which brought a number of Saturnian restrictions to my health and everyday work, although the great taskmaster also shows us what we need to learn to overcome adversity, and I think I’ve got a handle on that, too! Are you also finally feeling you have moved on from an old adventure or challenge that developed over that period? Now that…

The Second International Yoga Conference in Delhi, India

I was very pleased to have been able to be a Delegate for Belgium at the second International Yoga Conference in Delhi on 22 & 23 June 2016, along with my colleague, Bernadette Erpicum. Thirty five countries were represented, invited by AYUSH, the Indian Ministry for Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. I enjoyed meeting nearly all national representatives, hearing about their communities and in some cases (notably Afghanistan, Kenya and Kuwait) also about the challenges they face in finding  acceptance for the practice of yoga on an official level. China had a large delegation, and yoga is really booming there. It was particularly inspiring to see that…

It is neither an experience, nor a state of being: it is simply a spontaneous and instant awareness of our True Nature (the Self). There is no “awakened being”, only pure Awakening…

    Chai bella!

I must confess to a personal addiction to masala chai, which for me is the essence of the Himalayas in a cup. Each sip of spicy warmth reminds me of the magic of remote mountain villages and tiny tea stalls found in the most unlikely places, including perched on a 2500m high mountain ridge. Hot, nourishing tea with a stellar view is almost as big a payoff as reaching the pilgrimage destination itself! Just as the world is divided between cat lovers and dog lovers, India itself is divided between tea drinkers and coffee drinkers, roughly North v South. Although the modern global coffee shop trend is slowly tipping the…
