Shine your inner light

Every year at this particular New Moon Indians celebrate the victory of light (good) over darkness (evil) in the festival of lights known as Diwali (or Deepawali in the South). This year’s celebrations occur on an especially auspicious New Moon thanks to several relatively rare, important and inspiring astrological events happening around the same time.

To start, Uranus is retrograding back into Aries on November 6th for a review and consolidation of what has changed for us since 2011 and, more precisely, since late 2017. This will be an opportunity to tie up loose ends and make peace with the lessons learned so we can fully move on by the time Uranus moves back into Taurus in early March 2019 (where it will stay for the next 7 years), taking us back to revisit what was being stirred up from May to October 2018 (for a review of what Uranus in Taurus means for you, see my message from May).

The Scorpio New Moon emphasizes all this change-agent energy as it occurs on November 7th around 5 pm CET, then moving into Sagittarius alongside Jupiter who also changes signs on Thursday, November 8th, after digging up the unvarnished truth in Scorpio since October 2017, coinciding with the exlposion of the #metoo movement. Jupiter will bring exhuberance and expansion to its ruling sign Sagittarius for the first time since 2007.

Scorpio can be a profoundly spiritual, charismatic and transformational energy, or wholly self-indulgent, manipulative, deceptive and debauched – it all depends on the motives and consciousness of the person concerned. If we rise up to the highest Scorpio vibration we can make the best use of it as an energy of personal rebirth and spiritual self-discovery.

Adding to the spiritual nature of this New Moon is a harmonious aspect from Neptune in Pisces to the Sun and Moon’s Scorpio conjunction. If at all possible, set aside some time for quiet contemplation and meditation on the evening of November 7th.

The few days after that will be rich with insights thanks to all of this new, expansive and innovative energy.

Once you can see the moon in the sky again, over the weekend, it will be a good time for paying close attention to your inner guidance around your life goals and purpose. Consciously reflect on your plans and ideas but for best results wait to take action after the 17th of November, when Venus will be moving direct once again and bringing more beneficial energy to whatever you undertake.

Jupiter, as seen by NASA

As you plant these seeds, think back to how you broadened your horizons the last time Jupiter was in Sagittarius, from November 2006 to December 2007, especially in the area of life ruled by Sagittarius in your natal horoscope.

Jupiter will help make 2019 a very beneficial year for those with personal planets and key points in Pisces and Sagittarius, and for everyone themes of travel, higher learning and expanding knowledge and life philosophy are supported. Teachers, counsellors and those working in international domains or with foreigners will benefit from this energy too.

The Venus retrograde period is a good time for reviewing, repairing and renewing relationships

Venus, which has been retrograde since October 5th, glides back into Libra (where she turns direct again on November 16th). As of the 6th of November, Venus can be seen at the early morning horizon for the first time in months, making this her Morning Star (or the heliacal rising) phase.

This is an important part of the Venus cycle, and her rare presence in her ruling sign of Libra at this auspicious time emphasises our need to examine where we are on the spectrum of giving (relinquishing) and receiving (taking). Because she first pops up in the energy of Libra, this will set the tone for the next year and a half, so this could be a good time to brush up on nonviolent communication!

Venus and the Earth enjoy their full dance around the Sun every 8 years

If you tend to over-give, this is a good time to understand and heal that imbalance, and if you are typically more of a taker, then see where in your life you can start to give (without needing a quid pro quo) instead.

As if all of the above weren’t enough, the Moon’s North and South Nodes are moving out of the Leo-Aquarius axis on Wednesday and shift into the Cancer-Capricorn axis for the first time since 2000-2001. This brings up issues around emotional wisdom – emotional intelligence, or EQ – and how we can understand our roles within our family, as well as our family’s impact on our lives. This will be a less obvious energy right off the bat and will become more evident as we move through the next 18 months, so watch this space!

There is so much more to say about this extraordinary week but I have to leave it there. More details will unfold over the weeks and months ahead and I will certainly keep you posted, as ever.

Webinar for those born between 1984 & 1998… or those who are curious about what the next 18 months will bring…

The world and the economy of most countries are changing rapidly and new ways of working are going to be necessary. What is often called the Millennial generation is at the forefront of this change and will need to be flexible and creative in how they earn an income, balancing this with the challenges caused by climate change and major social transformation.

Your time is now, and by 2020 you will be challenged to step forward in ways that make the most of your deep desire to be of service to society. The millennial generation will  guide us through the new social paradigm. Are you ready for your role?

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”

Margaret Mead

The theme of abuse of power has been at the forefront of social and political thinking since Pluto entered Capricorn in late 2008 – at the time of the banking crisis that continues to haunt us today. This takes on a heightened importance as Saturn and now the South Node of the Moon are in the sign of Capricorn, followed by Jupiter which enters the sign in late 2019. This is a rare triple conjunction of these major, game-changing influences which signals the last years of the American Empire, and a new world order which will necessarily emerge.

As I was ill last week, and due to the collision of other unexpected obligations that need my attention before I leave for India on the 17th, I  decided to postpone the astrology webinar planned for this week.
